Shakopee's Maria Hauger finished third at the Foot Locker National XC Championships in San Diego Saturday. Winner Anna Rohrer, a sophomore from Mishawaka High School in Indiana broke away in the last mile of the 5K race to win in an unofficial time of 17:25. Runner-up Catarina Rocha, a senior from Peadbody HS in Massachusetts, just nipped Hauger with a finish straight sprint with a time of 17:29, Hauger finished in 17:30.

In the boys' race defending champion Edward Cheserek(14:58) of St. Benedict’s Prep in New Jersey outkicked Sean McGorty(second in 15:03) of Chantilly High School in Virginia and North Dakota's Jake Leingang(15:05) from Bismark HS in the last quarter mile.
