Kampf Third in Belém 800m at 2:05.02

Team USA Minnesota's Heather Kampf finished third in Sunday's women's 800-meters of the Belém, Brazil leg of the the 2012 Brazilian Athletic Series.

The race is the first of two half-mile races the former Golden Gopher NCAA champion will run in Brazil.

Rosibel Garcia of Columbia won the Belém race in 2:04.28, while Brazil's Christiane Ritz was runner-up in 2:04.95.

Kampf will race again on Wednesday in Fortaleza before returning to North America.
