Mike Hutton and Anna VanWechel have been named USATF Minnesota's Athletes of the Month for April, the organization announced recently.

Hutton, a junior at the University of St. Thomas, was recognized for winning the men’s 800-meter title last month at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships in Grinnell, Iowa.  The Apple Valley High School alumnus ran the race in one minute, 52.26 seconds.

VanWechel, a senior at Minnesota State University, Moorhead, was honored for her third-place finish in the women’s mile at the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships held in Mankato in March.  The Fergus Falls High School graduate ran the distance in four minutes, 52.00 seconds.
