Smock, Dilling Receive Development Grants

2011 USA triple jump champion Amanda Smock and former USA high jump champ Jim Dilling were among 20 athletes receiving Elite Athlete Development Grants from the USA Track & Field Foundation.

The grantees received $3500 grants to support their training.

"It's crunch time for these extraordinary young men and women athletes," Jack Wickens, Foundation Board member and leader of the elite athlete programs said in a media release. "In less than 5 months they will try to earn one of the precious spots on the USA Olympic team."

Last year, Smock (pictured) won her first USA triple jump title and represented the USA at the IAAF World Championships in Daegu, South Korea.

Dilling, the USA high jump champion in 2007 as a Minnesota State, Mankato senior, finished 6th at the USA Championships last year.
