St. Olaf Invite Photos by Gene Niemi

DtB photo contributor Gene Niemi was on hand at Saturday's St. Olaf Invitational in Northfield and snapped a few shots of the action.

UMD senior Morgan Place won the women's invitational title, running 22:11 over the 6K course. Carleton's Simone Childs-Walker was runner-up in 22:18.

The St. Olaf women, the #16-ranked team in NCAA Division III, topped #24 Carleton and UMD, ranked #10 in Division II, in team competition. The Oles scored 46 points, Carleton tallied 70, UMD had 87.

Individual men's champion Eli Horton of Central College, left, leads Joshua Mellman of Minnesota State-Mankato, Josiah Swanson of Minnesota State-Mankato, Brian Saska of St. Olaf and Garrett Eklof of Minnesota State. Bryan Lindquist of Winona State trails.

Minnesota State-Mankato won the team competition with 36 points; the host Oles scored 56 for second.
