Yes/No: Six New Records at Hamline Elite Meet?

Down the Backstretch is here to fulfill all your Hamline Elite Meet needs! First, play Yes/No on DtB. Then, if you can't actually attend the meet yourself, follow the action with our exclusive live coverage of the meet on Friday night.

Many of the top high school athletes in the state will compete at this unique meet including Devin Crawford-Tufts from Edina, Michael Sandle of Eden Prairie, and Luke Johnson of Red Wing on the boys side. Among the girls, be sure to watch for Analisa Huschle of Bagley/Fosston, Jessica January of Richfield, and Maggie Ewen of St. Francis

Last year we asked you how many meet records would be broken at the Elite Meet. We liked the question so much, we are going to try it again...

Y/N: Will six or more meet records be tied or broken at the Hamline Elite Meet on Friday?

In 2010, nine meet records were tied or broken. In 2009, there were seven meet records tied or broken.

To play our game, simply type "yes" or "no" into the subject line of an e-mail and send it to us at DtBFantasy [AT] gmail [DOT] com before 5:30 P.M. CST, Friday, April 29th. Please put your answers in the subject line of the e-mail and make sure your full name appears somewhere in the e-mail. We will offer a bonus for participants making their 2011 debut in Yes/No - a correct answer will be worth two points for anyone who has not played yet this year.

My answer: Yes

Last week's question was: Will Todea-Kay Willis long jump 20 feet or further at LSU on Saturday? The correct answer was yes. Willis bested all competitors and jumped 21-1 1/2 this week. Twenty-seven contestants answered correctly this week. Rachel Karel, Pat Foley and Jesse Schoen are all tied for the lead with 9 points.

  1. Hamline officials have confirmed to DtB that the 4:40 seed time in the girls' 1600 and the 22.33 girls' 200m mark in the entry lists are typographical errors.

    We're guessing the 1:07.14 4 x 200m seed is an error, too.
