Y/N: Will a Team USA Minnesota runner finish in the top 35 at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Poland on Sunday?
Emily Brown will run her second World Cross meet this year. She placed 18th in 2008 and led the U.S. women to a fourth place finish in the team competition. Brown was a four-time All-American at the University of Minnesota and was the USA Cross Country Champion in 2009. She finished 7th at the USA Cross Country Championships last month.
Patrick Smyth finished 2nd to Dathan Ritzenhein at the 2010 USA Cross Country Championships and will lead the U.S. squad going to Poland. Smyth graduated from Notre Dame in 2009 as a decorated collegiate runner and has since transitioned to professional running and similar success. Upon joining Team USA Minnesota he has contended for National titles at various distances including a runner-up finish in the 1/2 marathon championships this year. Smyth will run in his first World Cross on Sunday.
