Registration for 20th Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon opened today, initiating a lottery process in which 5000 participants will be randomly selected for the June 19 event.
The registration process continues until 8:00 a.m. on March 1.
Interested runners can submit their registration at any time during the 12-day online registration period. Participants will then be randomly selected and their acceptance into the race will be confirmed via e-mail no later than March 4.
Runners not selected will receive an e-mail notifying them that their entry was not among those chosen.
The entry fee for the 2010 race is $75, plus a processing charge. Only e 5000 runners selected through the lottery will have their credit cards charged.
Marathon Registration ... Race officials report that the field for this year's Grandma's Marathon is more than half-full, with 5000 runners registered for the event which is capped at 9500 participants.
Registration for the third event of Grandma's Marathon weekend, the William Irvin 5K, is set to open on March 17.
