What promises to be an exciting season of high school boys distance running is officially on ...Stillwater High School senior Ben Blankenship, the defending Class AA champion at 1600m, took advantage of the nice weather and some good competition by running a swift, high school honor roll-leading 9:15.42 3200m at the Lakeville Mega Meet Tuesday night. Blankenship beat the Edina duo of Tom Burke and TC Lumbar who clocked 9:22.52 and 9:29.08, respectively.

Blackenship, who will attend Mississippi State next year, got some early redemption for a frustrating end to his senior cross country season. He suffered a stress fracture late in the campaign and was unable to compete for the 9th place Ponies at the State Meet.
